“Claude AI chats” is currently showing as an active Google Trends query in India, with 20K+ searches in the latest 24-hour view. The interest follows reports that some Claude conversations shared through public links became discoverable in search engines.
Were private Claude chats exposed?
Reports indicate that the affected conversations were links users had deliberately shared. Anthropic has said shared conversation links are publicly accessible to anyone who has the link. This is different from an ordinary private chat being automatically published.
What should users check?
- Review conversations for share links created in the past.
- Remove or revoke shared links you no longer need.
- Do not place passwords, API keys, financial details or confidential work data into a conversation you plan to share.
- Before sending a share link, open it in a private/incognito window and check exactly what another person can see.
